This gourd has been extensively woodburned; and is further embellished with a pine needle rim, InLace, and carving.
Around the top is a continuous band of turquoise InLace, signifying eternity - a continuous circle. The 7 shofars have been carved beneath this band (Joshua 6:4,5). The Ram, of course, is a biblical symbol of strength (Genesis 22:13,14).
The "tree" medallion is carved, wood burned, and inlaid with InLace. The tree symbolizes believers in Christ (Psalm 1:3). The three wavy lines below symbolize water. The red arch over the tree is carved and inlaid with red Inlace, to symbolize the blood covering those who believe.
This cannonball gourd was decorated with woodburning and leather dyes.
She used the Optima #9PP and #19 ball tips extensively. Water color paints were added as a final touch.
