Angelus brand dye is a permanent liquid dye used for changing the color of gourds and all smooth leather articles. This dyes are guaranteed to penetrate gourds and leather, and to form a lasting color which will not peel or crack. They are also excellent for use in the manufacturing or re-coloring of shoes, saddles, tack, belts, purses, wood, gourds, and much more.
We strongly recommend preparing the leather with Preparer Deglazer. (The Preparer-Deglazer should never be used on vinyl.)
Leather Dye can be thinned with either the color Neutral, or with the Reducer Solvent.
After dyeing, use one of the many finishes available, to protect the finish and to add the desired amount of shine. For finishing we offer Acrylic Finisher in Matte, Satin, Gloss, and High Gloss, as well as Polishing Wax and Briwax Paste Wax.
The final colors that you can expect to obtain will vary significantly. They will be affected, in part, upon the amount and concentration used. Pictured below are actual images of the leather dyes, but they are intended to be used only as a guideline toward what you can expect as a final result.
We do not personally work with leather. These products are designed especially for leather, but we use them in our art work on gourds, and so cannnot give specific advice concerning leather. You should consult a professional in the leather field.
Need extra Wool Daubers? If you don't now - you will later.
Dye Liners are 'component pens', available in two sizes - fine tip and broad tip. You can fill these pens with your color of choice, and then use them to apply small amounts with precision.
For detail work; apply by the smidgen, or even less, into the very smallest and tightest of areas.
